​Much media attention has been given to pediatric sports-related injuries, but questions still exist as to what happens to a child’s brain after sustaining a sports-related concussion (SRC).

Todd Maugans, MD, FAAP lead author of the study "Pediatric Sports-Related Concussion Produces Cerebral Blood Flow Alterations,” comes on the show to discuss new findings and give parents, coaches and trainers vital information that could help protect a young athlete.  Dr. Maugans is an assistant professor and pediatric neurosurgeon at Cincinnati Children's Hospital medical center.
