Recipe: Cherry Sherbet

Serves 4

We love a two-ingredient (or three, max) recipe, especially when it's this delicious! If we didn't add the yogurt, it would be called sorbet; sherbet is a frozen fruit-based dessert that has a little bit of milk or cream—or, in this case, nice, tangy yogurt—added to it.

Active Time: 10 minutes
Total Time: 10 minutes

Kitchen Gear:

  • Measuring cup

  • Food processor (adult needed)

  • Spatula

  • Cutting board

Ingredients:

  • 1 (12-ounce) bag frozen pitted cherries (2 cups)

  • ½ cup plain yogurt

  • ¼ cup almond butter (if you like a little bit of extra richness and nutty flavor) (* If you're allergic to almonds, leave out the almond butter.)

Instructions:

  1. Put the frozen cherries in the bowl of the food processor fitted with a steel blade and pulse until the cherries are well chopped.

  2. Add the yogurt and almond butter, if you like, and process until smooth. Serve right away.
