Healthy Children Radio: Childhood Vaccinations (Audio)

The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) believes that immunizations are the safest and most cost-effective way of preventing disease, disability, and death. We urge parents to make sure that their children are immunized against dangerous childhood diseases since it is always better to prevent a disease than to have to treat it or live with the consequences of having it.

Amanda F. Dempsey, MD, PhD, MPH, a specialist in implementation strategies for child and adolescent immunization, comes on the show to discuss the study that states some parents are still wary of following the recommended vaccine schedule. She will also discuss why it is vital to the safety and health of our children and our society to follow the prescribed schedule for vaccination of our children.
