Just as your husband supported you through the birthing process, he can act as an effective coach through the early stages of breastfeeding. Your husband can play an important role by making sure your baby is latching on correctly, arranging pillows for feedings and burping and changing your baby after feeding. By encouraging your husband to help nurture his infant in these valuable ways, you will include him in the process of helping your newborn attach in a unique way to each of her parents.
