Question & Answer

Question

I know it's best to put my baby to sleep on his back, but what else can I do to prevent SIDS?

Answer

Many infants die during sleep from unsafe sleep environments. Some of these deaths are from suffocation, strangulation, and entrapment. Some infants die from sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS). To reduce the risk of these deaths, all healthy infants up to 1 year of age should be placed on their backs to sleep.
