Bath Seats: Avoid Use

Now that your child can move around independently, you may be considering purchasing a bath seat to contain her in the tub. These seats provide support so a child can sit upright in an adult bathtub. Unfortunately, they are capable of tipping over. A child can fall into the bathwater and drown.

Instead, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends a hard plastic child bathtub.

Always keep in mind that during bath time, you should never leave your child unattended or turn away from her.

Extremely important: Always hold on to your child with at least one hand while bathing her.
