Laura Blaisdell, MD, MPH, FAAP
Dr. Laura Blaisdell is a pediatrician, researcher and advocate. She is the Chief Medical Officer at SeriousFun Children's Network, the leading network of medical specialty camps in the world. For 20 years, she has worked in camp medicine, serving as Medical Director at Camp Winnebago and advising camps on myriad of topics. She also works clinically at Maine Medical Center (MMC) Pediatric Clinic. Dr. Blaisdell is the immediate past-president of Maine American Academy of Pediatrics and founding member of Maine Families for Vaccines and American Families for Vaccines. In these roles, she is a tireless advocate for vaccines and gun safety among other issue facing youth. Additionally, she has served as Clinical Site Director for the National Children's Study, as Chair of the Institutional Review Board (IRB) at MMC, as Chief of Pediatrics at InterMed, and as a Trustee for Mercy Hospital in Portland. She is an Assistant Professor at Tufts University School of Medicine. She resides in South Portland and Fayette, Maine where she lives with her two sons and husband.
