AAP Recommends What Children Need for Safe Anesthesia Care
The American Academy of Pediatrics has released updated guidance on how hospitals and surgical centers can keep children safe before, during and after anesthesia. The policy highlights that most serious anesthesia‑related events in children are preventable and outlines essential staffing, training and safety systems—especially for infants and children with complex medical conditions. It also supplements existing standards from national anesthesia organizations.
